Yes, We're Open!
Mar 16, 2020Hey everyone!
We've gotten a few worried messages over the past few days asking if we are still open, and the answer is a resounding YES! KMAC operations will be continuing as normal, even with the recent K-12 closings. Our hearts go out to those who are affected by COVID-19, and we want to support anyone who needs help, academic or otherwise, in these scary times.
- We are open for business as usual, including one-on-one tutoring and our group ACT workshops.
- If you are uncomfortable coming into our office, we can also schedule a meeting via Zoom or Facetime. We have been doing so for years, so this is no big deal!
- We ask that if you are feeling sick, or come into contact with someone who is sick, please let us know and we will reschedule your appointment or schedule a virtual appointment.
- We will be sanitizing our tables and office after each meeting to limit the spread of germs. We also have plenty of hand sanitizer and soap!
- Just a reminder: wash your hands, cover your mouth with your elbow when you sneeze or cough, be smart, and don't panic!
We are fortunate that we are a small business that meets with clients in a private, personal setting. While we are still paying attention to all government mandates and will respect any further instruction to cease in-person meetings. We will keep all of our clients updated on the matter as we become aware of information.
As mentioned previously, we are ready and capable of providing instruction remotely! We have been doing it for years, with clients as far away as San Antonio, TX and Succasunna, New Jersey.
Additionally, for those college and high school students whose classes have been moved online, we're here for you! If you find that you are struggling with the new format, let us know! We can help you get organized and get on track, and provide additional instruction regarding challenging subjects. It can be hard to learn physics or pre-calc on your own, and we are here to help! Some of our students have discussed getting study groups together for AP classes, so if that is something that you would be interested in, please feel free to contact us.
A note for students who are signed up for the April 4 ACT: As we are sure you are aware, this test has been postponed to the June 13 test date. We will still be providing test prep in the mean time, and our ongoing ACT Prep Workshops will be commencing as planned. If you have any questions regarding the ACT test, please refer to ACT.org.
Finally, something that has been in the works for a long time: starting today, Monday, March 16 (great timing, we know!), our ACT Prep Workshops will be offered ONLINE! These online classes will be a more intensive version of our 4-week workshops and a GREAT way to get ready for the June test from the comfort of your own home. If there is any way that we can help support you or your child during these times, let us know. We know things are pretty scary and confusing right now, and that this situation is far from normal. Right now, it is important to take care of one another, stay calm, and stay smart.
We'll see you soon!
